Indian Business visa is currently required by all nationalities wishing to travel to India on a business trip. These visas are normally given to those who are undertaking business in India. Such as attending meetings/establishing contacts on behalf of a company outside of India and can be granted for short term up to 12 months and long term from two to 5 years effective from the date of issue. Our visa charges include the fee payable to the Government of India, our handling & administration charges. Please note all visas are granted solely at the discretion of the High Commission of India and its Consulates. Business visas are non-extendible and non-convertible.

For non UK passports, Visa processing time is 10 to 15 working days (unless you have lived in UK for more than 24 months) and extra £10 in fee.

Business Visa Requirements
Please Note:
Apply for six months or more duration of visa, the validity of the visa begins from the date it is issued and not from the date of your departure. As visas are valid from the date of issue and not the date of travel, it is applicant's responsibility to ensure that the visa they have been granted is valid for the duration of their stay in India.
Important Notice
Please note that the length of Visa mentioned in Invitation Letter, Letter of Support from UK based company as well as number of months mentioned in Online Visa Application should be same. e.g. if you are applying for 6 months Visa then it should be 6 months in Letter of Invitation , Letter of Support from UK based company and Visa Application Form.
- Biometrics are required for applicants who wish to apply for five year Business visa.
- Original Passport with at least 2 blank pages and 180 day validity remaining.
- Signed Declaration Form (Please click for copy of Declaration Form)
- Filled in and signed Letter of Authorization (Please click for copy of Authorization Letter)
- Letter of invitation from the India based company to be visited, addressed to the High Commission of India.
- Original support Letter from UK employer, addressed to the High Commission of India, requesting the visa and outlining the nature of the business related trip and the duration for which the visa will be required. Applicant's Passport number, date of issue and date of expiry MUST be entered in both letters (click here for a Sample Business Support Letter) and (click here for a Sample Business Invitation Letter).
- Please note that if the company requesting a business visa is not located in the UK, the business letter should explain the reason why the applicant is applying from the UK".
- Applicants holding dual nationality are requested to apply on their country of origin
- Prepaid Self Addressed Royal Mail Special Delivery Envelope.

- Please choose Indian Mission as UK LONDON.
- Please enter full names on visa application form as showing on your passport.
- Please enter full names of Parents, Spouse wherever Applicable
- Please choose the print option once form is completed.
- Payment by Credit/Debit card, PayPal, Bank transfer and Cheques accepted.
- Two, 50mm by 50mm size photographs ( Larger than passport size, PHOTOS must be taken from photo machine or professional photographer)
- The form requires 2 signatures, once on the first page on top right hand corner and once on the 2nd page.
- Payment by Credit/Debit card, PayPal, Bank transfer and Cheques accepted.
Requirements for Applicants whose previous nationality was Indian before acquiring foreign nationality.
- Copy of Surrender Certificate and Copy of the Cancelled Indian Passport (Self-Attested)
IMPORTANT: PLEASE SUBMIT PHOTO COPIES OF SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS UNLESS ORIGINALS ARE REQUESTED.
Non UK Passport Holders
Stamp of Indefinite Stay OR Utility Bills, Includes, Landline Telephone, Gas, Electricity, Water, Council Tax Bills and Tenancy Agreement.
- Mix and Match Utility Bills will not be accepted.
- Bank Statements will NOT be accepted.
- For NON UK passport holder who does not have proof of residency in the UK for more than 2 years, the Visa processing time is 10-15 to working days. They are required to fill in a NON UK resident form and an extra £10.00 fee is chargeable. (Example of text is on our 'Other Application form' on home page).
- American Passport holders Additional £25.00 payable on top of visa fees
- Please make Cheques or Postal Orders payable to "India Visa”.
- Payment by Credit/Debit card, PayPal, Bank transfer and Cheques accepted.
For NON UK passport holders who do not have proof of residency in the UK for more than 2 years, the Visa processing time is 10 to 15 working days. They are required to fill in a NON UK resident form and an extra £10 fee is chargeable. (NON UK form on our home page under, Application forms and letter templates)

Return of your passport:
Your passport and any documents sent to us will be returned to you via the prepaid Registered Special Delivery envelope that you send us.
